Enter a summer documentary for a prize!


The Georgia Division of Tourism is proud to announce the launch of the “Homegrown with a Twist" Summer Celebration video contest! Please share this exciting contest with your students, colleagues, and other departments to encourage them to enter. The grand prize winner will receive more than $3,500 in prizes, including a two-night stay in Madison, Georgia, and will have their film screened at the “Homegrown with a Twist" Summer Celebration event on August 29, 2013, at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta.

Georgia is looking for original videos that document your favorite tourism destination, event or pastime in the state from a new and exciting viewpoint. Tell us your Georgia travel story, big or small, and capture it on video in your own creative way. Use your animation skills, capture stories or experiences with interviews, document your favorite Georgia vacation experience, or even use time-lapse technique to show culture and nature. A grand prize winner will receive more than $3,500 in prizes, including a two-night stay in Madison, Georgia, and will have their video screened at the “Homegrown with a Twist Summer Celebration” event on Thursday, August 29, 2013, at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta.

Non-Tenure-Track Instructor in Digital Film Production

The Department of Media, Journalism & Film at Missouri State University anticipates an August 2013 opening for a one-year non-tenure-track Instructor in Digital Film Production.  For a full position description and to apply online go to https://jobs.missouristate.edu/postings/9266.  Date of first consideration: July 19, 2013.

Required qualifications:  MFA in filmmaking or MA in media production and a minimum of 1 year of professional production experience required.  Must be able to teach AVID Media Composer and narrative film-style single camera production. Familiarity with HD cameras and field production equipment preferred.

Duties: Teach four production classes each semester including:  Intro to Digital Filmmaking & Media Production, Cinematography & Editing, Advanced Editing, and Digital Filmmaking (short narrative films). Advise students and provide service to the department.
