Part-time Radio Announcer/Producer Position Open at WUGA

Part time SUBSTITUTE Announcer/Producer position for WUGA radio.

Job summary: 1. Announcer/Producers serve simultaneously as a radio board operator and on-air general "host" for WUGA's radio broadcast -- announcing local weather, station identifications, and public service announcements, etc. The part-time Announcer/Producer occasionally serves as a program-specific host for locally produced programs (mostly classical music). 2. The SUBSTITUTE announcer serves as a replacement when illness or other activities prevent other announcers from working their regular shifts. Preferred Qualifications: • Previous radio experience • Some fluency in musical terminology (classical) • Familiarity with composers and artists (by name) • Available for short notice shift assignments (24 hours or less)and live close to campus Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies required to successfully perform work: • Superior verbal communications skills, with clear enunciation and a strong, confident voice, consistent with broadcast standards. • Either pre-existing knowledge and skills in operating computers and other electronic equipment, -or- strong ability to learn technical material.
